WHY I SUPPORT THE MISSION…

My daughter Mae, who is goofy, fearless, and independent, also has Down syndrome. She is eleven years old and the bravest person I know. I’ve been involved in the DSACF since Mae was a newborn. As a local business owner, supporting local organizations is incredibly important to me. The association has played a pivotal role in advocating for the rights of people with Down syndrome, raising awareness to eliminate stereotypes, and providing essential support services for individuals and their families. My daughter can do everything, we don’t limit her abilities. On the weekend, she can be found trapezing, bouldering, or wrestling her brother. Mae fearlessly embraces every opportunity that comes her way.

THE ANNUAL DOWN TO PARTY GALA…

is held each year to raise funds to support our programs, resources and scholarships for families throughout all stages of life, including diagnosis to adult years.

THE DOWN SYNDROME ASSOCIATION OF CENTRAL FLORIDA…
is a local grassroots non-profit founded in 1991 by parents of children with Down syndrome. Since then, the organization has grown to serve over 1,200 individuals with Down syndrome and their families and reaches 8 counties in Central Florida. The DSACF helps individuals with Down syndrome develop the skills and confidence to reach their greatest potential and live healthy fulfilling lives as valued members of society through a number of programs and services. From family support and education to social gatherings, medical outreach and advocacy, we are focused on changing the way the community sees people with Down syndrome - not as a population burdened by limitations, but as unique individuals with their own gifts to share.
